The Watkins Museum and the Paper Plains Literary Festival bring you a special event: Join us for an online conversation with Megan Kaminski and Lesley Wheeler on Prairie Divination! Megan, Lesley, and Will Haynes of the Watkins Museum will discuss the origins and significance of this unique project:
"An oracle deck + guidebook, Prairie Divination turns to the plants, animals, and geological features of the tallgrass prairie ecosystem as a source for knowledge and inspiration for living in this world and to re-align thinking towards kinship and sustainability. How might thinking with plants and animals guide us in navigating an uncertain present--and help to imagine futures? Filled with information for each corresponding card, the illustrated guidebook of essays offers personal guidance and affirmations based on the specific lessons that each plant, animal, and element can teach us."
This program is part of Paper Plains Literary Festival and is also in connection with our exhibit Dear Friends: Lawrence's Literary Societies.
Experience this live online event on the Watkins Museum of History Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter. You can even ask Megan and Lesley questions!
